AAC vs AC3
AAC means Advanced Audio Coding, is a type of digital audio file and has been promoted as the successor to the once-dominant digital audio file type, MP3.
AC3 means Audio Coding 3, is a file extension for surround sound audio files used on DVDs format. It was created by Dolby Labs for use in a Dolby Digital audio on DVD, Blu-ray and other digital video formats.
- AAC is more advanced lossy audio format than AC3, it will produce better audio quality than AC3 with same bitrate, especialy on low bitrates.
